The prostate is a male chestnut shaped organ which lies directly below the bladder. It's main function is that it adds secretions to sperm during ejaculation. The prostate creates approximately 30 % of the clear and slightly acidic fluid in semen, which contains protein splitting enzymes, citric acid and even compounds of iron, calcium and potassium. Sometimes the prostate can encounter difficulties as with any other human organ and proper care is necessary.

Originally doctors used prostate massage to cure or prevent diseases, today, doctors use prostate massage to check the prostate for any problems. This process can be done quite simply by a physician during a routine exam or with practice and proper technique males are able to check their prostate at home. Prostate exams are important as they can help detect changes in size and flexibility. A hard and painful prostate can mean something serious such as a disorder which may lead to cancer. With routine and proper prostate inspection the chances of minimizing cancer patients is possible.

Some men may feel the idea of performing their own prostate dirty and related to homosexuality somehow. Bacterial transmission should not be a worry if your hands are well cleaned before hand. Those that feel prostate examinations means they are somehow homosexual should look into the problems associated with improper care of the prostate such as malfunction, dysfunction or even diseases. This exam has not been recorded to transform someone into a homosexual.

Performing your own prostate examination should not be too alarming and is actually quite simple. There should be no more pressure applied to the prostate gland other than that applied to rub your eye. This procedure is done internally with a lubricated and/or gloved finger or prostate massager inserted into through the anus. Using your finger you are also able to stimulate the prostate through the perineum although this method will not remove fluid. Rubbing the lobes on either side of the prostate, individuals should be extra cautious not to rub too vigorously on the nerves in the center.

It is possible during this procedure for the prostate to contract causing itself to empty in the same way an ejaculation would, although none of the surrounding organs are involved. Quite often this happens when the prostate is full and sexually stimulated by the procedure. Sometimes this occurrence happening during prostate prostate massage is referred to as an orgasm without genital stimulation.

Unfortunately, there are some health risks related to prostate massage if it is not performed properly. While gentle massage of the prostate area may drain painful secretion buildups it may also lead to blood poisoning or the transfer of prostate cancer to other areas of the body and possibly some individuals will experience a hemorrhoid flare up. So while prostate massage can benefit, it is important to keep in mind that most risks are caused from a pre-existing condition or too rough of a massage. Due to this concern, using a finger instead of a prostate implement is safer.
