Skin cleansing is not the basic washing with soap and water that it once was. Getting the skin clean and preventing blemishes is not rocket science, but it does take some research to get the maximum benefit to cleansing your skin. There are many important factors that must be seriously considered when choosing the proper methods and products that you use to cleanse yur skin.
The most important factor of cleansing the skin is choosing the proper products to use on your skin. If you have combination skin, choose a product that is suited for combination skin and if you have oily skin or dry skin, choose the appropriate product for yur skin type. A product for oily skin will dry out skin that is normal and a product for normal skin will not be effective enough on oily skin. You could wash your face constantly to keep it clean, but it would not be nearly as effective as it would if you used the proper product.
Another important factor in cleansing your skin is the way in which you cleanse your skin. In order for the product to be effective, you need to work the cleansing product into the skin and give it a few seconds to work on the dirt and oil you are trying to remove. If you have found more than one product that works on your skin it would not be a bad idea to rotate the products so that you are getting a more well rounded cleansing of your skin.
In addition to the daily cleansing of yur skin, some type of exfoliating product should be used. Products that are used to exfoliate your skin help to remove dead skin cells and any other dirt and grime that normal cleansing will leave behind. These exfoliating products are usually too harsh on your skin to use them daily, but two to three times per week is good. There are also microdermabrasion kits that you can purchase at your local drug store that will go a step further than exfoliating products to remove dead skin cells and other dirt from your skin. The use of a microdermabrasion kit will actually lift off a few layers of your skin to promote the production of collagen, which gives your skin its elasticity and help to prevent wrinkles. In some cases, a person with minor scarring on their skin can actually see the appearance of their scar diminish after using a microdermabrasion product.
If you cleanse your skin every day with a product that works well on your skin with a few exfoliating products a week and a microdermabrasion if you feel it is necessary, you should have no trouble keeping your skin looking fresh and clean all the time. If you have trouble keeping your skin clean and free of blemishes and you are only using one product and method to cleanse your skin, then try a few of the products that go a step beyond cleansing and exfoliate your skin as well. You may be pleasantly surprised at how effective it may be at keeping your skin looking great.
