I have a grandson who is eleven months old and he is on Similac infant formula. He drinks his formula many times a day, along with juice and water. He also eats us out of house and home, as he is a busy little man. I never give it a thought when I make a bottle, as I am sure the people in China never did. When a baby wants his or her formula, you simply make it and give it to the infant. Those parents in China never knew they were making bottles from the tainted powdered milk. They should have breast fed as I did. Breast is always best for these reasons.

A fourth infant has died in China from tainted powdered milk. Another 6,200 babies have become sick from drinking this tainted powdered milk. Of the 6,200 about 1,300 are so ill they have been hospitalized. The tainted powdered come out of greed for higher returns on milk profits there.

So far, eighteen adult have been arrested and charged. Twelve of them are people who collected the milk, watering it down, and adding a chemical to hide their wrongdoing. The other six were selling the chemical to the farmers as a milk additive. Many people around the world are asking them selves who would add something to infant formula.

This tainted powered milk or infant formula has been linked to many different companies over in China. Of the 175 infant formula companies doing business over there, 66 have stopped selling formula. Infant formula is running in short supply there, but I can only imagine that parents are not buying much of the other formula because of the tainted powdered milk.

That is appalling to know so many people are out of work because those greedy 18 adults who were arrested tried to swindle the formula companies. It is appalling to me that the idiots who sold the chemical to the farmers, and the farmers who got greedy and used it. Who has paid the ultimate price of this greed?

Those tiny little infants whose family members gave them the tainted powdered milk have paid a dear price. Those family members who have fed those babies the infant formula must be so distraught knowing they fed these children the poison, without knowing it. Those families are now dealing with the loss of these babies.

I remember when China had that earthquake earlier this year. Many parents were without water to make the formula, and some babies were orphaned. A breastfeeding police officer freely fed other children so they would not starve. She cared for those infants enough to give unselfishly of her self, she did it because she seen
