Ideas to solve the American economic crisis

Keep in mind that all monetary policy is based loosely on the credit system - think of Monopoly and the promissory notes. Those bills and coins in your pocket are simply a promissory note that guarantees that if you take them to the government they would give you something else for them I.E. the old barter system where a quart of milk might have been worth two chickens or a dozen eggs.

Let's not just step up on a soap box giving the regular obvious answers but how about some actual possible options. Here are mine in what I would like to say would be a long term option giving it a minimum of 5 years to gain full benefit which allows the changes time to show actual benefit.

Reduce all prices of all products, service, etc. by 15 percent for a minimum of 5 years. By doing this it will increase the buying power of everyone adding value to the worldwide credit system on which our monetary system is based, thus increasing the sales figures, the income for companies and the overall buying power.

Management/Government Officials reduce Salary by 15 percent and no bonuses for a minimum of 5 years. This will reduce costs for products and services in both the private and public sectors to benefit all by reducing overall health-care costs, making everyone healthier and able to afford the medical treatments they do need.

Sales Tax increased by 6 percent for a minimum of 5 years. Income Tax decreased by 5 percent for a minimum of 5 years. The increase in sales tax but decrease in Income tax will put more money in pockets allowing for more purchasing power but, allow for taxes to still keep up with costs in the public sector. The private sector will still benefit because of the obvious purchasing power.

Medical Insurance/Treatment Costs decreased an additional 8 percent over the adjustments in the earlier price reductions. This will allow for a healthier, less costly society overall which benefits both the private sector and the public sector. The benefit will overall be that if people can afford health care obviously more people would use it thus, saving employers in all sectors money and productivity.

These numbers are of course arbitrary but, can you see how easy it would be to determine the reductions to actually stimulate the economy world wide? I can only hope that someday our governments can stop haggling over every little amendment that absolutely must be attached on the back end wasting precious time for something everyone so obviously desired.
