Paper plate activities for kids are fun and a cheaper alternative than a pack of construction paper at most places. What can you do with a paper plate? The real question is what you can't make with a paper plate.
It is my goal within this article to inspire you to use those paper plates for something other then picnic food. How many times after a summer, do you have these things left over for the season? Then they sit around all fall, winter, and spring waiting for the next summer. This sounds silly to me where there are so many other ways to use the paper plates.
Craft Idea for kids #1
Use one paper plate. Cut two circles for eyes, and a larger one for their mouths. With a paper, punch cut too holes on either edge to place a string through. Allow the children to color their masks in any way they choose, with markers, crayons, or even stickers.
Craft Idea for kids #2
Grab a few of the colored paper plates and draw hands on them. If you cannot find colored plates have the kids color them or even paint them. Cut out the handprints, and place them around a circle in the form of a wreath. Go ahead and add some small red circles for holly berries.
Craft Idea for kids #3
Color or paint a paper plate. When it is dry then roll it up and tie with a piece of string. It can be a periscope or spy glass for when they look at things. Allow your child to add stickers or draw designs on the outside. A child's imagination is a wonderful thing to encourage.
Craft Idea for kids #4
Color or paint the plate. Allow the child to add stickers or designs to it. Cut some little lines in it so that it resembles a pinwheel. Attach it to a unsharpened pencil that they can hold. Gently blow the plate and watch it spin.
Craft Idea for kids #5
Color or paint a paper plate orange. Use a marker to draw a face on it or cut out the eyes, nose, and mouth. If you cut out the facial features, add in a piece of black construction paper behind the plate to make a background. Add a small green stem cut from green construction paper. This cute little pumpkin can become a decoration for Halloween.
You can use paper plates to make turkeys, Santa faces, or even shamrocks for the holidays. All you need is the paper plates, crayons, markers construction paper, and a little bit of imagination. These craft ideas are sure to delight your child. Have fun with your kids today, use your imagination, and spread the amusing fun you will have.
