Senator Hillary Clinton has a wealth of knowledge, experience, leadership, spirit, determination, passion, and understanding that is unique. It is because of her varied experiences and her remarkable journey that she has already been exposed to and developed relationships with, numerous World Leaders. She is already respected, admired, and trusted by many.
As First Lady, and with a background in law, she travelled the World and visited many countries. She spoke out and educated many about women's rights. She spoke out about Human rights, praised democracy, and helped to explain how and why a democracy worked. She represented the American people with grace and dignity, and the World took note.
She experienced pain, suffering, and betrayal while on that very same World stage. Again, she represented the American people with grace, dignity, and displayed a trait as American as "apple pie", she stood by "her man". America "stood by her".
She was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2000, representing citizens of the State of New York. In the fast paced, media capital of the World (N.Y. City), home of "The United Nations", a place where a person of power and influence cannot go "anywhere" without literally bumping into someone else of equal or greater power and influence, she advanced her expertise in negotiating, fine tuned the art of compromise, and "got things done". The people from the State of New York "stood by her", they elected her for another term!
As Senator, representing the people of her state, she travelled abroad "to where she needed to be", to assist those people she represented. She "travelled" to the War zones, "listened" to the requests from those she represented, and "championed" their cause for assistance. "She got things done!"
As a Senator, and when necessary as; a member of a "Congressional Fact Finding Mission", a Committee Member, or at the request of the people she represented, she travelled abroad or met with foreign officials here at home, got information, gave information, "established options", and "found solutions". "She got things done!"
While still a Senator for the State of New York, she ran a national campaign for the office of "The President of the United States". She "shined her light" ever so bright "inspiring millions of Americans to stand up, and get involved". She "gave them a voice", and "they were heard". The whole time she represented her State well, and "she got things done!"
When Senator Obama won the Democratic Primary and became the party's nominee, Senator Clinton "stood by her party's man", gave him her support. Together, "they got things done!" President Elect Obama will be sworn into office January 2009.
There is no doubt in my mind nor in my heart that together, "President Obama" and "Secretary of State Clinton" will do what is necessary, when it is necessary, how it is necessary "to get things done".
As a New Yorker, an American, a believer in our "Constitution", I would be honored and pleased to see such a "fine and talented team" represent "WE THE PEOPLE..." (from the Constitution).
The Question; "Should Hillary Clinton be chosen Secretary of State?" The answer; "Absolutely, YES!"
