Freelance Writing Bidding Sites

If you are a freelance writer, you know that sometimes jobs are hard to come by. Well have you checked out bidding sites? This is a great way to get in touch with website owners (among others) who are looking for freelance writers. With a bidding site, an employer will post a job on the site. It may be for an article or series of articles for his website. It may be for paid forum posting to boost his new forum. As a writer, you go on the site and find jobs that you are qualified for and bid on that job. Is it always the lowest bidder who gets the job? Not necessarily. It is the one with the most reasonable bid and the best experience for the job at hand.

There are a couple of ways to land a job on a bidding site. You can search through the list of posted jobs and find the one that you are interested in and place a bid. Or some employers will invite a few people who they find fits the qualifications they are looking for in a writing job they need done. This is known as a private bid. Only invited bidders compete for the job. There is an endless supply of freelance writing jobs available on these sites. And the good thing is they are updated daily most of the time so even if you don't find something today, check back tomorrow.

Here are some of the best sites to check out:

Rent A Coder- I have landed numerous jobs here. They have a lot of new jobs posted every day. There is no charge but Rent A Coder does take 15% of your final bid. So say you bid a job for $100. Rent A Coder will take 15% or $15 and you will get paid $85 when the job is completed. Once the buyer accepts your bid, he/she puts money into an escrow account. When you deliver the completed project, you will be credited with the money minus the Rent A Coder fee. Rent A Coder pays by the 7th of each month.

Script Lance is another great freelance writing site. There are hundreds of projects listed by employers. You can bid on the jobs that interest you or that you are qualified for. Script Lance can allows email you when a new project is posted that fits your qualifications. You can update or cancel your bid at any time. Script Lance does not charge a fee but they do take a commission of 5% of your bid. So if you are chosen for a project that you bid $200 on, they will take $10 for their fee.

Freelance writing can be a very lucrative career but with these bidding sites, your career just got more rewarding.
