Poetry: The way I see you

by Elena Ryder

Created on: November 16, 2008

The way I see it
purple daisies can grow
beneath pink skies
a palette of possibility
like bubbles of thought
we can splash in

The way I see you
is in each raindrop
when the sun is shining
a rainbow arching above
puddles to dive into
wet cheeks smiling

There's another way to see
one that I have no control over
other than to be me

The way you see me

I can't help but think
we're running barefoot
through open fields
plucking sunflowers
that turn into roses

under blue skies of lilac seas
shores of timeless traces
wearing our hearts on our sleeves
dancing to songs of silence
under a moonlit sun

not wondering what we see
or why we see it
but knowing
it comes from the heart
