Poetry: Acceptance

by Benjamin Miller

Created on: November 15, 2008

Old Verses

Old verses

Come back to haunt

Devilish rhymes

Of truths once known

Turns out

It wasn't true

Their metaphors

Claw at my heart

I'll make a choice

Right now

To make the scars

My war paint

To carry those poems

As a third arm

As a shield

Truths come and go

Acceptance remains

So does a smile

As long

As you care

To keep its company
