"Tom Turkey"
(A HUMOROUS Thanksgiving poem written for my Kindergarten students)
Tom Turkey had a plan,
so he went right to the store.
He had to stock up on food
and not go outside anymore.
Hunters were everywhere,
behind every house and tree.
If he stepped outside the door,
a dead turkey he would be!
Tom locked the doors,
he locked the windows too.
He watched TV and ate munchies,
Of course his belly grew!
After Thanksgiving day,
he went right back to the store.
but this time he bought diet food,
since his clothes didn't fit anymore!
