What makes someone want to write their heart out? There can be lots of reasons why. Sometimes it's harder to say things out loud the exact way that you heard it in your head. For me that is a big reason as to why I write. There's so much that I can't interpret vocally because of constant second guessing in my head. Very few thoughts have left my mouth with the intention of its purpose, only adding to my fear of screwing up. So I have learned that I speak more clearly on paper. And it's not a bad thing at all. I really quite enjoy it.

As one knows, most writer's seem to live in their head. Which makes perfect sense to me. I like living internally because I feel more at ease with myself. I guess it also has a lot to do with assurance. I don't know any other way so I must do what feels right. A writer needs to have some type of focus on the inside because obviously that is where ideas stem from. Sometimes the best stuff comes completely out of the blue and a writer needs to be there to catch it. Those moments sometimes come far in between.

Another reason writer's write is because of the harmony it brings to oneself. Writing really is the best kind of therapy. And on top of that it is free. It couldn't get much better than that, right? In life, each of us has demons to battle, sometimes everyday. And so there are many ways that one could let out their frustration. Some yell, some point fingers, some just let the words flow in a creative manner on or off paper. Either way, letting your voice be heard is one of the most powerful things one could do.

Some say that writing is a talent or a gift. Maybe it is true, but maybe it isn't. What if it just has something to do with being a learning process and how we use each of our senses. Everyone has a vision, but some would rather put there's down on paper to see what they get out it. I guess just about everything is a learning process when you think about it. We coast through life to the best of our abilities and some go far while others stand still or end up in a circular motion. Either way it's living and learning.

I've learned to call myself a writer because I have realized that it is all that I am. I don't claim to know much, but I know this and too well. It's the familiarity of it all that brings out the best in me. It comes so natural to me that I can't help but to form words whenever I can. And I don't consider myself to be some time of genius. As I'm getting older I have realized that maybe I do have something special. I don't know what to call it, but I'm happy it is there.
