Poetry: Lessons in life

by Kamille Pierog

Created on: November 15, 2008

A world filled with sadness,
a world filled with joy.
Our lives are filled with wonder,
Like a child and a new toy.

We sit in silent contemplation,
atoning for our sins.
Wondering if the future that lays before us,
is where it all begins.

Years pass by us faintly,
while we shuffle our feet along.
We sit in our life's garden,
waiting for that bird's song.

But to wait for life to change unaided,
will only wound your mortal soul.
To sit in contemplation,
will not make our life's rock roll.

'Tis far better to grasp life willingly,
to take it by the hand.
Go forth and grasp the future,
Be prepared to take a stand.

Become the bird you wish to hear,
allow your wings to sore.
Join life's tides and take the trip,
remain in silent contemplation no more.
