Poetry: Sing to me

A Voice On A Summer's Night

The night is warm

As she walks back to her dorm

She hears him sining in the grass

With the hope that his song will last

As she comes closer to him

With her heart racing for him

She stands at a distance, just listening

He can feel someone behind him and begins wondering

Then she asks him, nervously

"Will you please sing to me?"

He is taken back, not knowing what to say

She continues on, "I heard your voice on my way

And there is something about the way you sing in the moonlight

It is like, love is everywhere on a summer's night

I can't explain it

But I was drawn to your voice without realizing it

So, I hope that one day you will sing to me"

With a small smile, he began to sing the melody

He later named his song after her

Then on a college radio station, he dedicated it to her
