Competitive debating as a learning tool

INTRODUCTION

Competitive debating is an effective instrumental tool that may allow people from different backgrounds or layers of understanding to come together and learn from one another through logic, analysis, and delivery. As an instrumental tool, it neutralizes unorganized assumptions and may stop or slow down the flames of hatred, malice, or isolationism. Competitive debating viability is mostly found in logic, analysis, and delivery.

LOGIC

A meme can be an example of logic. A meme may be a specific custom dearly held by some people like men are the ones who are to ask women to marry them. In addition, a meme may be an element of your character that influences your behavior such as the agreement or assent to avoid eye contact with married or engaged women. Consequently, however, what may seem to be logic to us may be viewed as protectionism because of the fear of the unknown or the fear of something that we have never seen or experienced before. Therefore, we should use simple logic to confront and resolve the existing problems.

ANALYSIS

Analysis is a very popular word in the scientific world. Analysis is used to break down complex problems into small understandable parts. Ususually, it starts with a phase of appreciation. This is where you gather as many possible information as you can gather from the facts. Analysis, as a result, is a great tool for competitive debating. Oftentimes, debaters ask the best possible questions to get the right kind of information. The "Whs" questions are part of best questions to ask to generate information and solve problems. Although you may ask great questions, the way you ask your questions - delivery - could be the determining factor about the outcome of the debate.

DELIVERY

Delivery comprises both ton and style. People from different geaographical boundaries have both a few similarities and differences in perspectives with respect to subject matter. Thus, you should have be very cautious about the ton you use when you choose to ask or answer a question. If you ask a question with anger, people will be able to tell; if you ask a question with deep sadness, people will be able to tell as well. Consequently, people from diffrent horizons - parts of the world - may easily get offended if you choose to use an insulting ton or style. So, if we desire to seek common ground or some sort of advancement in our understanding of one another, we should choose with precision, skill, and accuracy the right ton and style in our debates with other people.

CONCLUSION

Competitive debating is a beautiful exercise when used wisely. We hold debates to satisfy our needs by sharing and learning from one another. Usually, our audiences are people from different places, religions, philosophies, etc. As a result, we should adopt the best available linguistic technology such as logic, analysis, and delivery to reach satisfactory ends.
