Parenting : A Whole Other Ballgame!

Is it really necessary to say that being a parent is the hardest job in the world? Of course not!

Having a baby is easy and please don't misunderstand what I mean by that. I'm not talking about potential complications, or infertility, or any such obstacles to childbirth, I'm talking about the simplicity in which nature gives us to create life, the act of sex'. So, whether we take that step either intentionally or through poor judgment leading us to create a new life, we have crossed over a threshold that no longer involves just the act' of consenting adults. We have moved into another phase of being a parent that is more than just producing a child. It now becomes a behavior that requires a responsibility to society and to every human on this planet when you add to the world's populationand it is that responsibility of being a protective and nurturing parent that is discussed here!

Parenting's most important role is to teach life's lessons and values to a fresh set of hungry brain cells just waiting to absorb everything you can throw at them. It isn't just having a baby that makes you a parent; it's how you are going to bring up this dependent bundle of joy to be a productive part of the human race and not a burden to society. It is common sense to realize that having a baby is a responsibility to both the child and society at large and not just a way to extend the family tree. Look at the poverty in this world and the starving families. Look at the poor living conditions that cause heartache and despair. Look at the lack of education and desperation in poor neighborhoods. Look at the growth of gangs. Look at the lack of respect that is increasing from generation to generation. Look at how so many children are caught in this viscous cycle of poor judgment brought about by the heat of the moment'. Who pays for this? Not just the children. Society suffers. Lack of education, negative social behavior, ignorance, is all based on poor parental guidance that starts the day the doctor says, congratulations, you're a parent!"

Every new birth is a blessing. However, every new birth takes up space on a planet and this planet has no ability to stretch or increase its own territory. Every birth places a burden on society to feed and protect that child. Every new birth adds to the interpersonal relationships with others throughout one's lifetime. Every new birth is more than just a gift from god' to hold and coo at and dress up like Ken or
