The idea to transform a room or entire level of a home with tile is so exciting. If you've had carpeting forever it seems, the change is one that is thought of and considered even daily when the current flooring is bad enough. There are several factors to consider when you make a purchase of floor tiles as this most likely will be a large purchase and will take much effort to install.
Three major factors in making the best choice in floor tiles are the value and impact the new tiles will have on your home, the durability and quality of the product chosen, and the longevity of the aesthetic impact on the home. Certainly, each of these factors have multiple sides, and methodologies for coming to the best result for ones particular project.
First, let's talk about the value and impact the new tile flooring will have on the property. This factor is controlled by several criteria. What area of town is the home located, what is the age of the home, the property value, etc. These are the key factors in determining the best type of product for flooring in the home.
If the home is a middle to lower priced home in an urban area and the budget is small then that will point to a solid reliable long lasting tile with the cheapest retail cost and the most neutral aesthetic appeal as possible. If it's a trendy older home in LoDo, CO for example, it will demand a tile of the historical period, or if contemporary a tile of the latest in design trends to enhance the property value of the home.
