The stars they are laughing
Up in the midnight sky
Their eyes they are twinkling
With such joyous light.
But morning is coming
And they fade with the night
Now laughter is sounding
Like all your goodbyes.
I want to take a star
And hold it in my hand
I want to keep a star
So it never leaves again
I want that twinkle
To wake me in the morning
I want that light
To shine without end.
