Poetry: Romantic pain

by Belinda Southwark

Created on: November 12, 2008

Every step is pain

I feel the tears

Running away

I can't

A public place

You near her face.

Every step is pain

And I can't run

I can't hide

I'm on a high

Then I'm on a low

What's going on

Inside my soul.

Every step is pain

Thinking about you

Smile then cry

I don't know why

It's like a rollercoaster ride

And the ride never stops.

Every step is pain

As I walk past

I don't know for certain

I don't know for sure

So I can't laugh or sob

Because I don't know

The answer I crave.

Every step is pain

Until I find the conclusion

The happy ending

Or the tragedy

Whichever one

You happen to choose

Doesn't matter now

Because I still don't know

And every step is pain.
