For me, I personally say I prefer playing video games over board games. Why? Well, video games make it feel and seem more realistic than board games. Board games are also sophisticated, depending on the type of board game. Monopoly is a good fun family game, but whether or not you are practicing, and studying Mathematics, it can get quite competitive. The rules of a board game like Monopoly are also difficult. Video games can be difficult as well, but that's the fun of it: working out the problem yourself. Games are built for training your mind to think about different solutions to different problems; problem solving, again, like in Mathematics.
As I'm a guy, I decided on getting myself a part-time job for the Christmas season in a game shop, selling and putting computer game boxes on shelves. The advantage of such a job, is that I get to see what new video games are coming out on the newest consoles, how much they are going to be costing to buy, the discounts are another advantage. Plus, I get to make new friends, hear their views on what games and consoles they liked, or disliked. I have really grown to be quite knowledgeable about these XBox-360 machines, Nintendo DS Lites, Playstation 3s, and the like; the information and the advantages and disadvantages about each console, I learn something new or bad about them every time I exchange pleasantries with my colleagues, makes me want to play more and more video games. I just need to get my hands on a damn console, though.
My eyes and heart are set on purchasing an XBox-360. You may ask yourself, what's the point of such a machine? Alright, fair enough question. I want an XBox-360 because one, it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the current Playstation 3 console, which was designed and made by Sony. Playstation 3 is kind of like playing a bigger, fatter version of the Playstation 2. The only reason I say this is, unless you have something like an HD Television in your bedroom, or somewhere in your house, then there isn't much point in spending a substantial four hundred pounds worth of your money on it. There is also a system called Blueray, the new format of DVD enhancement, which is suitable for the Playstation 3. The 80GB PS3 (Playstation 3) console is not compatible with the PS2 game format, which seems ridiculous, considering on the amount of memory it has. There is also the fact that the Internet connection of the PS3 is free! Unlike Microsoft's XBox-360 machine, Internet connection has to be paid for.
