My chest feels heavier and heavier
As it rises and falls
The truth is out
It is undeniable
The inextricable pain
As disappointment remains
To hope above hope
That what you knew to be true in your heart
Is not true in that of another
Let him lie
Let him be
Let his sorry excuses flee
For there is nothing left now
But that which is dead inside
To let it go
Just get over it
Why not be at peace
If nothing else
But the pain remains
The scornful heart that mourns the waking day
That nothing's changed
It's still the same
For disappointment remains
