Everyone has their opinions, thoughts and ideas. Although one person's view may be considered less marketable, realistic or scientific than another's, in the bigger picture this is unimportant. Whether or not your views are considered as "good" as someone else's, whether or not that means political views, or simply how you feel about what is around you, they are your own and they are important to who you are.
Our opinions are what form our personality. If one person votes for a democratic candidate and someone else votes for a republican then who is right? The answer is no one. Each opinion has its own value. There are some instances in which an opinion can be blatantly false, but in most matters it is either near impossible to determine if anyone is right, or it is a debate which has no right answers, only different ones. Our opinions are not just important because it determines who is right and who is wrong. Being right or wrong is very unimportant in comparison to the other roles opinion plays. Who we are, how we interact with others, our religion, our drive. All these things are formed from our opinions and how we view our surroundings. This is the reason why most debates never reach a conclusion. This is why we agree to disagree. To change our important opinions is to change a key factor in who we are.
No one has had an enormous amount of success in this day and age without an idea. Ideas are in fact what fuel America's economy and help it thrive. Our ideas are a manifestation of the very core of our personality. Every person has a different makeup which leads to individual ideas. To better our culture, and even greater, the world, each individual needs to hold their ideas and dreams closely and understand that theirs are no lesser than another's. If one man's dreams aren't marketable, maybe they are meant to help the less fortunate. Each person has a role to play in our culture. It would be a shame if something truly great were discarded because the one who created it thought it was unworthy.
Our thoughts are a result of our personalities, which can be traced to opinion. Our thoughts determine what we do in life. To have a life without thought is to live without accomplishment. Though thought is nothing more than a product of other factors in an individual it is very different, yet obviously important. Our thoughts can be swayed much easier than our opinions. Many factors can change our thoughts, usually repetition of another's thoughts or exposure to a contradiction to our thoughts that produces a better result than our own. The importance of maintaining and controlling our thoughts is this: Through change of thoughts we gradually allow change in opinion, if our opinion changes then it can change our ideas. When all these things change it could alter who we are, or rather who we are becoming.
Our opinions, ideas and thoughts are key factors in who we are. To discard any of these as minor would be a grave mistake. How we live our lives, how we make friends, how we achieve financial stability is all derived from these variables. Because of the importance of these traits, we need to be careful about what we let change within them, and who we let alter them. Most of it is subconscious; however, you can make a conscious judgment of whether or not something has the potential to be harmful to you. Be proud of who you are and take control of what you are going to become. These are the things that make us strong as individuals and successful as a nation.
