Wife, Mother, Soldier
I am a wife and mother and a soldier
How can I be all three?
Each one of these things
takes something from me.
I cook, I clean, and play with my son
but little people know I'm hell on a gun.
My husband loves me with all his heart
making sure I had the best right from the start.
My father was tough while I was growing up
he taught me how to never give up.
Joined a unit with a lot of war vets
they taught me how to be my very best.
Now they are all long gone
a few of us left to fend for our own.
Became a mother soon after I wed
but my husband and I have no regrets.
All three things are built into me
making me the person I always wanted to be.
