Poetry: When we are old

Created on: November 11, 2008

The Treasure

When we are old -remembering.

The lives we chose to live

In the present - we're still capturing

Moments like movies - on colored film to play

Quietly we're watching seconds slipping by

Seems they're in slow motion - while we laugh - and sometimes cry

When we're old - a precious memory

Will be more valuable than all our gold

A gentle soul to walk with - or a shoulder to lay on

All the treasures we need for living

All the riches we will need - can be built now for a lifetime

Today - before we're old!
