Having bad neighbors is something that usually every individual encounters from time to time. Some are annoying, others crank up the lawn mower at six am on a weekend morning just to pain or wake up the entire neighborhood. Here are five helpful tips and hints on how to cope with a bad neighbor.

Make sure to document everything your neighbor is doing to disrupt your life.

Make sure to document everything that your bad neighbor does to you or says to you. You need to write down the date and what was said. You want to have proof that the neighbor is a bad neighbor and the only way to show this is with evidence.

Invest in some video cameras for your protection

You want to setup video cameras around your house. Why? It will record any damage to your property that your neighbor might do. It might even show up some not so funny pranks that your neighbor may play on you. You need to be able to show that your bad neighbor has bad intentions.

Get witness statements from other neighbors.

Witness statements from other people will make the case against your bad neighbor even stronger. You want to be able to get the neighbor evicted out of the area if they don't stop doing bad things. Make sure that your neighbors all document the things that they may have heard or seen from the neighbor.

Notify police about the bad neighbor.

You need to notify the police just in case your bad neighbor is a loose cannon so to speak. The last thing you want is a physical confrontation between you and your neighbor. You want to go to the police and turn over any documents and video tapes of your bad neighbor doing things that they shouldn't be doing that disturbs you or others.

If you rent, notify management about the bad neighbor.

Eventually management will do something about the bad neighbor when they have received enough complaints. Make sure that other neighbors complain to management so they aware that it isn't just you with the problemed neighbor. You don't want them to think that you are just trying to cause trouble.

Make sure to document everything and use video cameras. Notify the police and management regarding everything with other neighbors there to back up what you say and can show proof of what is happening. Your bad neighbor will eventually move on their own or get evicted sooner or later after all of this is done. It will stop the bad neighbor from doing bad things towards you or anyone else anymore.
