It will take more than one individual or government to signal and effect real change in America and the world in general.
Perhaps I was not as moved by Obama's victory speech as others because the color of his skin had never been an issue with me one way or another. It appeared when they wrote what they believed would be an historical speech and included the words "Only in America" could this happen, they simply forgot about Mandela.
Now there was a story! A true story of faith, strength, belief and perserverence. A story of a man who truly fought for what he believed in and suffered dearly for it. Who rose to the top by never giving up on his dreams and beliefs. Who paid his dues. Only in America? I think not.
America has become a country dominated by sensationalism and what is viewed and heard mostly through the media. So inspired are its citizens by what they see and hear that they have truly, as a whole, forgotten how to inspire themselves. And on that level, they gained a very positive and inspiring group when they elected the Obama campaign on November fourth.
It is my wish that Obabma's incredible gift of inspiring others will not be lost in a sea of political moves and back room manipulations. That humility, not pride and ego, will lead the way. It is my wish that his message of "Yes We Can" will soon translate into a personal message for one and all of "Yes I Can" It is my wish that the sense of unity and connectiveness this man and his group of advisors inspired in a nation and the world will continue in the hearts and minds of each individual.
Only then can real Change and Transformation in the world take place. One person, one heart, one pure intention at a time.
One man cannot single handedly change a country and the world, but one man can inspire a community of people to think more positively about themselves and the world in which they live. One man can surround himself with only those who share a common vision of peace, unity and universal love. One man can lead and guide towards the very change needed. That change begins within with each of us!
We can all change the world one person at a time. Each individual one of us will and can be instrumental in that change. Each individual one of us will need to work for the betterment of all others. If a President Obama can inspire each individual towards change, then he will have succeeded in becoming a truly historical president and give birth to e new day for the whole world.
We must all be instrumental in this change we have come to believe in. One single man cannot make it happen. One single government cannot make it happen. Only a world filled with individuals who share a collective vision, consciousness and desire to truly change the world can bring about this change so desired.
It may feel to many that after a very long political battle, the end has finally come. Victory has finally been realized. Change is imminent. In reality though, the work has just begun and every individual will be needed collectively to bring about such change.
And to that I say.........Yes I Can! Yes You Can! Yes We Can!
Yes all will be needed to change the world one person, one heart, one mind and soul at a time. Love for all mankind regardless of race, religion, gender or social status. Love for our earth and all its living creatures. Love for our oneness as a whole creating a new world where peace, love and inner happiness reign. That will be change! That will be history!
