Poetry: If only you knew me

That boy is not right in the head, the old man tried to explain
As I launched myself off the wall, pretending that I was a plane
Now landing firmly on both feet, sent shivers right up to my chin
But to the two old fellows watching, it looked like a silly big grin
Look! Said one to the other, it's like I was saying before
He's just standing their grinning, yet we know that landing was sore
Gents you judge me so harshly, you don't even know me at all
It was done with no thought of the landing, I was just enjoying the fall
The 10 seconds from lift off till landing, the one time that you're truly free
Too late to change your decision and a landing you cannot yet see
These precious seconds of freedom, which many have not in their life
Gives you a glimpse of a World, not burdened by worries and strife
