Resurrection.
Resurrection from the dead or from a grim, grim fate
is surely powered by faith alone and the will to live.
We take the wine and eat the bread from on the plate
and know that life's great maxim is to give.
Resurrection day is talked of as if it's in the future
but in reality it can happen on any day you choose.
You have to be able to see the bigger picture
or else you will be going backwards and may lose.
To resurrect means to bring right back to life
and start again to make the body richer.
Now this can happen between a husband and a wife
it just depends on how much water's in your pitcher.
There is enough bread and water to go around
and many starving countries need resurrection.
Start by echoing this unselfish sound
that is, 'food and drink for all', don't make selection.
You know the whole world could be raised to live
and people would wear smiles and start to laugh.
It just depends if the have's are willing to give,
some may for the first time ever have a bath.
Yes world peace and joy is linked to resurrection
but as long as there is selfishness it won't work.
We all must start looking in the right direction
and give and give and give; simple, that's the lurk.
The many pious people go to church on Sunday
and partake of the Holy Communion politely.
But when they leave the altar, it's back to play
and people are dying on the streets almost nightly.
"I am the Resurrection and the life" Jesus said.
"Believe and there is everlasting life."
"I showed you when I came back from the dead."
"Follow all I said and there'll be no strife".
And so the world rolls onto the year 2009
and people want change to bring good to them.
But they must look to the star that did shine
all those years ago in the desert at Bethlehem.
For faith and love and charity will bring resurrection
and people from the gutters they will surely rise.
It's not a matter of judgemental selection,
we need to bring a smile to sad and weary eyes.
