Poetry: Misguided fantasies

by Marshall Brown

Created on: November 10, 2008

I saw that hand reaching out to me,

Pulling me in, feeling so free,

Electric blood pulsing my veins,

Hoping with fear, it was not vain.

And all of my cries, silenced my soul,

All the pain, outwardly flow,

Replaced some dim, hopeful delight,

Erasing dark days, graced by tonight.

All that I was, cannot be again,

Suddenly more, than just a friend,

Walking you home, that dream that I live,

Fearing it's more, than I can ever give.

You drop your hand, turn to the light,

And bid the farewell, no kiss goodnight,

Silhouette of blue, disappears inside,

Finally seeing, better to live, than to hide.
