Until I die I will remember back

To the days of old

When there was no war in Iraq

No killing and spilling of innocents blood

People fighting and fleeing when push came to shove

We all helped each other and didn't ask why

Money was very easy to come by

We all had jobs cause no one else took them away

And we didn't lose our assets on a rainy day

Our children could play outside, run, laugh, and play

Not stay cooped up inside to stay safe all day

From the gunshots and screams of drive by shootings

Drug dealers, gangs and kidnappers looting

America the beautiful and home of the brave

Our countries not ours anymore and there's no flag to wave

So Until I die

With a tear of happiness in my eye

I will remember the good old days and why
