Gifts that give back can be the most rewarding thing a person can do in their life. When you give of yourself, from the heart, and without any expectation of anything in return, then you have truly given a gift that will keep on giving. When you touch someone's heart with kindness, a gentle word of praise or just a simple act of helping, you have given something that is priceless.
How often does one get the opportunity to touch a life and make a difference? By giving of yourself, you not only bless the one you are helping, but you are blessed more than you can imagine! You can make a difference in numerous ways by giving of your time to help charities, volunteering your time at various hospitals, nursing homes, child care centers and many more places that beg for help. Ever see the people that ring those little bells at Christmas at donation points? How about those people that take meals to shut-ins or the elderly? What about offering to drive someone to a doctor's appointment or going grocery shopping for that neighbor that can't get out? There are ways that you can make a difference in someone's life.
But you may say, I can't do that. Well, those organizations need monetary donations to keep their operations in business. You can make a big difference by giving a donation. Those organizations can't do the good service they do without people helping them.
Want to brighten up your life this Thanksgiving or Christmas? Take someone you know, maybe from your church, or neighborhood, that is less fortunate than you are to Thanksgiving dinner. Drop off a little gift to that elderly neighbor that lives near you. It doesn't have to be an extravagant gift, just something from your heart that will let them know that someone is thinking about them. Bet your heart and life won't be the same again! Remember what Jesus said, "And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me".
