We've got nineteen miles until we hit the state line
Once we hit the open road I will be just fine
We've gotta get away, we long for better days
We are leaving the bullshit far behind.
State highway one
Take me south
Take me away
State highway one
Take me someplace that I wanna stay.
Someway, somehow, you know that we'll make it
Because we refuse to let each other quit
You know we'll find a way to make it through the day
Under attack but we will not submit.
Four to six hours beneath the burning sun
We cannot stop now, we've only just begun
I cannot look behind because I might lose my mind
We've got to stay sharp or we are done.
State highway one
Take me south
Take me away
State highway one
Take me someplace that I wanna stay.

I wonder if they're still
fighting

I am running in the woods.

Nobody here to see me.
Or, to hear my screams.
The ground beneath me is slipping
