Poetry: Dancing

by Stephanie Credille

It's Been Raining For Days

The world stands still, dripping

from my haven I see

a bless-ed child

that used to be me

splashing a raindance

in the yard across the street

open mouth for the sweet nectar

of heavenly tears. arms out face up

swirling circles with drips

flinging from baby fingertips

barefeet green grass tickles out

tinkling laughter

like windchimes under the stars

i sigh for a moment only

then remember who I am

and reach for my shoelaces

and plan my own raindance.
