When our lips met for the first time
It really wasn't what I thought it would be
The warmth caught me by surprise as I gazed into your eyes,
I held your hands with mine; this wasn't a time for quick goodbyes
Time seemed to stand still as my breath caressed your neck
My hands found the curvature of your spine, the softness of your skin
I couldn't let go, wanted to touch you head to toe
Forbidden desires, made every movement pleasurably slow
Your eyes spoke with silence of the night
The youth of your face shadowed my life lines of maturity
Your breasts were there to touch, but your gentleness made me drift
My hands followed my heart; my heart beat in tune with yours, what a gift
Will it happen again, I don't know
I don't know how long we stood there
I don't know when my fingers finished parting your hair
I just don't know why I feel this way, it's so unfair
We both have our reasons
Right or wrong, it will be our memory
A secret I will cherish, a secret for us
A want, a desire, a sin to confess
Let the clouds build
Let it rain, let it storm, let the rivers overflow
But this night I will remember
The 6th of November
The clouds will part and the rain will subside
The rivers will calm, the wind will hide
The sun will shine, savoring our time
A fleeting moment, a feeling, a last second rhyme
So, when our lips met for the first time
It really wasn't what I thought it would be
The warmth caught me by surprise as I gazed into your eyes,
I held your hands with mine, now it is time to say good-bye.

Those eyes insisting,
this wall we shall be camouflaged behind.
