I want this nation to succeed and its people prosper, so in good concience I simply could and did not vote for Obama. But he has won the Presidency and we all must support him and give him a chance to succeed now.
But this does not mean we must turn a blind eye to a very serious, and frankly Orwellian legislation that he is lining up to censor the radio world by changing the law and using the FCC to shut down radio stations that do not support Obama's ideas and values.
The First amendments guarantees us all the freedom of assembly and freedom of the press. Radio is the press too. Why has the TV news networks not even raised this story or mentioned so little about it? Look who Obama has made the new FCC chair, an ardent "fairness Doctrine" supporter and in part originator of this government censorship of free speech bill..
Obama calls it the "Fairness Doctrine". Again it reminds me of George Orwell's book 1984 "Freedom is Slavery", Ignorance is strength" were two of the slogans of that totalitarian society.
Now we have: "Fairness is Censorship"
What does the "Fairness Doctrine" do? It allows the FCC to shut down the license of any radio stations that does not give equal time to the opposing point of view. This is a tissue pape thin excuse for absolute censorship of talk radio, we have never has anyone before dare to even suggest such an anti-American law.
Think about it please. I do not even listen to talk radio and I personally feel Rush Limbaugh is an ass and an entertainer not news person or journalist. But should we allow Obama's legislation to deny Rush Limbaugh the use of radio airtime? Is it Constitutional to censor and silence him?
It most certainly is not and even if you think Rush Limbaugh is a raving lunatic, remember if they can censor him today, then they can censor you, and your preferred political speakers tomorrow.
Freedom of Speech is so very essential to our American way of life, we simply can't let this happen. WE must let our Senators and House Members know that we will not tolerate any form of censorship like this proposed "fairness Doctrine".
Another fundamental and absolutely necessary right is our right to a secret ballot in an election. But this too seems to be under attack by Obama.
He proposes that any one can come into place of business or factory and ask the people directly if they would like to join or form a union. This denies them a secret ballot and that is it's objective too.
How can person say "yes" or "no" while standing in front of all his co-workers and thus have every one in the business or factory know how he "voted" at once? This is not secret ballot it is naked and raw intimidation.?
Think about these things long and hard. A secret Ballot and free speech are so absolutely fundamental to our American way if life that if we ose them, we will not have either freedom or a democracy of any kind.
Do not sit on your ass on this one people, there is far, far too much at stake here.
Speak out loud and clear that you demand freedom of speech, will not tolerate government censorship of opposing points of view and that a secret ballot is essential to any true democracy of representative republic.
I am an American I will support the President elect and I want him to win so we all win as citizen's of this great nation. But he was elected President, not King and not Emperor.
And I will not support these proposed obscenities to our fundamental way of life, the First Amendment to our Constitution and everyone's right to a secret ballot. We must not allow these essential freedoms to be legislated or tricked out of our hands and hearts.
