Our last Dinner

Two days before the dreaded dinner that had been tradition for as long as I have been married into the family. My husband Trey insisted on attending, even though he knows that by the end of the evening I will be the blunt of his families jokes and at least three fights will break out. My name is MaShawn Bentley a succesful lawyer in upscale New York. You would think that because of my background this family would love me, not the case at all. I met Trey three years ago at a convention for lawyers and their assistants. When I saw this man, I tell you the world stopped turning and there was no one in the room but he and I. It was electric and he feel for me just as hard, literally! He was walking over to me in a trance it seemed, and just before he got to me, he and the waiter collided and they both hit the floor. It was funny and a huge turn on for me. Although, he was not laughing at all. I walked over to him and offered my hand, he looked at me sheer embarassment all over his face, and reached out to me. When our hands touched the fireworks went off and I knew he was it for me. That night started the a new chapter in my life and personally it was time for me to be happy. "MaShawn, come on you said you had to get a dress for the dinner let's go" Trey called. "I'm coming hold on, don't know why we are going to this distaster dinner anyway", I called back. It is a proven fact that no matter how nice I dress, they will still find a way to insult me. It was nippy outside and we had a light snow drizzle, it was beginning to look a lot like Christmas, for sure. As we approached Macy's department store, my mind drifted back to when I attended the first dinner. Trey had warned me that his family can get a little rowdy as the drinks began to flow and the tempers began to flare. Coming from a family where my parents worst argument was what University I would attend, it was not something that I was used to. I was nervous and worried this was also my first time meeting his family, well at least all of them. We had gotten married on a remote Island in Hawaii and the ceremony was small and sweet. We had flown his parents and my parents down to spend the weekend with us. We got married Saturday at sunrise with our parents witnessing. It was very intimate and quite beautiful. At the reception dinner everything was great until we started having drinks. Once the alcohol set in his mother told me how she really felt. She called me everything under the sun and more,
