Skeptics may ask "Is there proof that God exists?" and will demand to be given some type of mathematical formula or biological evidence that will scientifically prove the existence of God
and will not accept any religious or moral philosophy.
There are many things in the history of the world which we take as fact but have no scientific proof; the existence of dinosaurs is a perfect example. Sometime in the early 1800s a man found a large bone, called it a dinosaur and the rest is history. So why is it difficult to believe that the world and everything in and upon it was created by God?
In the history of our nation we find the belief in God was the inspiration which allowed us to be free. Today, God has a significant presence in our daily lives by being minted on all of our coins and currency and being a part of every oath of office from the new enlistee in the armed forces to the President of the United States.
Those of us who possess a Christian faith understand the term "In the beginning". Those who choose to have no Christian beliefs really have no "beginning" and even though there was nothing, they feel that there was no miraculous creation, but simply this "nothing" exploded at some point in the past and here we are.
Those who choose not to believe in miracles have obviously never witnessed the birth of a child. What logical reasoning do we have on how a single germ cell could possibly appear nine months later as a beautiful baby boy or girl?
Have you ever watched the sun hide beneath the ocean in more glowing colors than any artist could paint or stood in a forest on a snowy winters night gazing at all the magnificent stars in the sky? How would you explain these realities with any theory of randomness?
How do we explain the inner workings of our conscious and subconscious minds? We set our own standards of morality and all the other standards of what's good or bad in our lives. If we evolved from apes, as some think, how did our mind's ability advance from that of an animal? What theory do we have to explain our sadness or our happiness?
Surely, as we witness all the wonders of nature, we must believe that someone must have been in charge. Even if you are an atheist, there must be a certain level of knowledge and some level of faith. We either believe in our own observations of God's existence or we don't.
The entire reality of this debate on the existence of God is that we either believe "He is" or "He isn't", there is just no middle road for anyone to take. The evidence of God's existence is all around us, but unfortunately some will always chose to ignore it.
We all possess faith in one form or another. After all, what scientific proof do we have that someone actually loves us? It is our faith and nothing else that causes us to feel loved and appreciated. If it were not for our faith why would we bother to plan next summer's vacation a whole year in advance? God lives in the hearts of all who will let him in and it is our faith that makes God's existence real in our lives. We just don't need any further proof.
