Nihil scio? I know nothing?
It sounds safe,
in a nihilistic way,
to believe
only in my ignorance.

I am ignorant.
No argument about that!
Perhaps my insistence that I know something
is proof that all my artful science
is less
than nothing.
*
What do I think I know?
I think I know I am on planet Earth
doing the best I can.
I think I know my own heart
to some extent,
just enough to know
I often lie.
*
I think I know something
of the nature
of good and evil:
beauty, joy,
cruelty, destruction,
the sting of failure,
the radiant strength of love.
*
I think I know
I don't believe
what I'm told to believe,
but I won't know
for sure
until I have to choose.
*
I'm pretty sure I am breathing,
creating
something of value
right now.
Good or bad,
it's mine.

I Don't Know
I don't know what tomorrow may bring.

Do you think that because
