Poetry: If you were gone

by Mary Snyder

Created on: November 08, 2008   Last Updated: April 30, 2011

The leaves are falling to the ground
And in the woods there's not a sound.
I am looking all around
to see if you could still be found.

This was your place, your time and space.
I can always see your face,
You are here anytime I need
When I have troubles and can't succeed.

Just as you were in life my man,
If only I could hold you again.
I hope the Lord will hold you tight,
And see how hard that you did fight.
With that said, I'll say good night,
I'll love you till I see the light.
