His chair now sits, in his living room
Where an aura of his past does loom
He often spoke of life from this chair
Choosing his words with loving care
Never did he utter a negative thing
Only the joys that life could bring
I can still hear him say, in his enlighten way
Life isn't much, if you refuse to touch
You have to accept, the way order is kept
To learn the way to let your soul fly free
To give your all, be not afraid to fall
From that chair, he would look at me
Tell me of his past, with humbleness and glee
He would say things like, this is an old chair
From here I can see, all that is good and fair
Everyone should have a place, to view the human race
This room with my favorite chair, is where I have learn to care
About a new dawn, a sunrise to inspire song
About a child's cry, as it begins to wonder why
About all lives's venue, that daily renew
Life, like a cup, is better served when it's filled up
That wearing a smile, will serve you all the while
To keep you, healthy, wealthy, and in good mind
To face adversity , when it comes to find
Now I look at that old chair and wonder if where
He is now gone, they have another to spare

In the corner of the room between the two window shades

the gold-leaf chair

His Chair
Weary with age, seat worn and tired,
Armrests sprouting prickly stuffing.
Scents of him in the fabric as tears sting
I never knew
How empty...
This home would be
By just looking at
His chair
In the living room
It sits,gathering dust
I know from
by groundhog91
The old man sat back in his chair,
Looked like a monument so old
Visions of his past underneath the white hair,
Not even bothered
