Vegetable and fruit drinks for disease prevention and wellness

Juicing vegetables and fruits is the gateway to your good health. Following these juicing recipes will make it easy to consume vital nutrients that can build the immune system, help prevent disease, improve your memory, clear up your complexion, have a beneficial effect on both your skin and hair, as well as energize, cleanse and help restore the body's organs, nerves and overall systems.

However be careful some combinations work really well and can be harmful if you use them to often. They can also offset the effectiveness of other drugs you may be taking. When in doubt check them out. After all combining fruits, vegetables and herbs were some of the earliest forms of medicine.

A short list of fruits and veggies that may have this type of effect on you are listed here or with the recipe it's self. Memorize them so you will know to avoid them in other recipes you may find.

1. Vegetables that are high in vitamin K, like asparagus, dandelion greens, kale, dark green lettuce and cabbage may offset the effectiveness of anticoagulants (blood thinners).

2. Beets, kale, raw spinach and dandelion greens should be avoided by anyone on a strict diet to control kidney stones.

3. People with thyroid conditions should avoid broccoli, radishes, and cabbage since it contains goitorends that may cause enlargement of the thyroid.

4. Parsley, few vegetables can match the ability to be an over all body cleanser as parsley. In juice form all it's nutrients will be concentrated so it should not be used more than three or four days in a row.

5. Papayas or Raw spinach juice should not be taken under any circumstances for those who are on anti-depressants or anti-hypertensive containing an MAO inhibitor.

6. Drinking large amounts of carrot or tomato juice for more than a month will give your skin an odd yellow appearance.

Skin Cleanser:
Looking for a natural way to clear up your complexion? If watercress is not available, substitute an equal amount of parsley.

3 carrots washed , lightly scraped, with tops removed
1 tomato, washed and cored
1/2 cup watercress
1 cucumber, peeled
1 stalk broccoli, washed, tough bottom stalk removed

Cut all the vegetables into hopper sized pieces. Bunch up the watercress, juice in the processor together. Makes 1 large glass.

Epidermal Combo:
These ingredients will have a beneficial effect on both your skin and hair.

1 cucumber, peeled
1/2 cup parsley, Italian or flat
3 asparagus stalks, washed
1 cup spinach, washed

Slice the cucumber and asparagus into hopper sized pieces.
