minds of the children, is what maintains even the silliest of beliefs. This web site professes that among other things, there are NO inconsistencies in the bible; where in reality, it is common knowledge that there are many. Here are just a few:
GE 1:20-21, 26-27 Birds were created before man was created. GE 2:7, 19 Man was created before birds were created.
GE 1:31 God was pleased with his creation. GE 6:5-6 God was not pleased with his creation. (Note: That God should be displeased is inconsistent with the concept of omniscience.)
GE 6:6. EX 32:14, NU 14:20, 1SA 15:35, 2SA 24:16 God does change his mind. NU 23:19-20, 1SA 15:29, JA 1:17 God does not change his mind.
MT 4:1-11, MK 1:12-13 immediately following his Baptism, Jesus spent forty days in the wilderness resisting temptation by the Devil. JN 2:1-11 Three days after the Baptism, Jesus was at the wedding in Cana.
JN 13:36 Peter asks Jesus where he is going. JN 14:5 Thomas does the same. JN 16:5 Jesus says that none of them have asked him where he is going.
MK 6:52 The people were so unimpressed with "the Feeding of the Multitude" that they did not even understand the event. JN 6:14-15 They were so impressed that they tried to force Jesus to be their king.
MT 5:16 Good works should be seen. MT 6:1-4 They should be kept secret. [from http://www.infidels.org/librar y/modern/donald_morgan/contrad ictions.html]

In 325AD, the Council of Nicaea (or the Nicene Council, http://www.piar.hu/councils/) was not there simply for the betterment of Humankind. It was there for a more specific purpose. Look it up. Make your own conclusion. For those who believe in a literal, inerrant bible, did you ever realize that you believe by extension, therefore, in the infallibility of the committees of men? Have you ever watched congressional committees at work and how muffed up THEY can make things?
In considering the first Nicene Council, one must consider the Arian Controversy: Arius denied the divinity of Christ. If Jesus was born, he said, then there was a time when He did not exist. If He became God, then there was a time when He was not. The Council declared Arius' teaching a heresy, unacceptable
