Acceptance
Enjoying the calm, blue water,
I soaked up the warmth of the sun,
And reflected on the beauty of nature,
Knowing that the day was near done.
I reached my hand in the water,
To pull out a small, smooth stone,
Separated from all the others,
It lay in my hand all alone.
I noticed the water rippled,
No longer calm and still,
Like radiating messages to us,
Of a stone taken gainst its will.
Briefly the water continued,
To tremble and move about,
Before settling down to acceptance,
That there was really no need to shout.
I looked at the clear, blue water,
Which was peaceful and calm once more,
But noticed the hole remaining,
Where the rock had been before.
I thought that I'm like the water,
When someone is taken from me,
My world becomes so unsettled,
And my heart ripples out like the sea.
I toss, turn, and cry out to others,
I need someone to ease the pain,
Disturbed and completely unsettled,
I feel like I'm going insane.
Still like the water, I calm down,
Accepting the way things must be,
But saddened and grieving in silence,
With a wound in my heart you can't see.

Knowing
It's not for me
Bird bleeding somewhere with my heart
Am I who's hoping for a final embrace?
As hope day after day I find not

Every beat of our heart reminds us of life and living
The rhythm that continues its tempo until the very end
Entwined in this
Sorrow Healed
Songs within the heart and soul
That runs deep as the river flows.
Tears of sadness that once were cried
Are now
