It's been 44 years since I've left the house without makeup! True. At 13 years old, I was finally "allowed" to wear some light pink lip gloss. From there, I graduated into Cover Girl foundation, a little blush, and then came the blue eyeshadow, heavy eyeliner, and lots of mascara. A couple of years later, I was wearing false eyelashes every single day, wouldn't go out without them, and I even wore two pairs on my wedding day!
Needless to say, the journey has been a rather long one. I have tried almost every type of foundation out there, not to mention blush, eyeshadow, liner, mascara, lipstick, gloss, and the new lip plumpers. When I found the Bare Escentuals line of makeup, I had about given up on the quest of finding the perfect foundation color, as well as texture.
Growing up in the 60's, I exposed my skin to WAY too much sun, and now I'm dealing with the effects of it. I have uneven skin tone and sun damage on 70% of my face, and as the years have gone by, gradually I've needed more coverage from my foundation. Watching QVC on the television one night a few years ago, I saw Leslie Blodgett, CEO of Bare Escentuals, showing the bareMinerals line of makeup and talking about how well it covered skin imperfections but still remained completely natural-looking.
Being 100% natural, without anything except "pure, crushed minerals from the earth," the foundation "looks like a powder, feels like a cream, and buffs on like silk," which leaves your skin with a radiant and healthy complexion. It's good enough for your skin that you can actually sleep in it. Leslie showed how easy it was to apply, using the "swirl, tap, and buff" method. Very little was used, and the model looked great. So, I ordered it, gave it a try, and now, six years later, I'm still using it every day.
In that time, the bareMinerals line has greatly expanded. Starting out with four or five shades of foundation, they now have 15 to choose from, so you can certainly get the right shade for your skin color, very light through to very dark. Everything you might expect, along with many products unique to the line, is available, in any color you could ever want or think about using. bareMinerals is about enhancing your features, not covering them up. Many products within the line have won awards by major magazines, including Glamour and Elle.
With its widespread popularity, bareMinerals is also easier to find than it has been in the past. If you lived in or near one of the larger cities in the country, you
