Although John McCain has the experience and the knowledge to run our country, I decided to not vote for him for the following ten reasons.
George Bush - Eight years of Bush is enough. McCain's ideas and ideologies mimic the Republican party's administration for the past eight years. No question why he has voted with Bush so many times.
Old ideas - McCain represents this country's old way of doing things. The ideas and decisions that worked in the 1980's do not necessarily get us ready for today's world. Too many times the McCain campaign made references to the Reagan administration when in reality - does it really apply? We need someone to look forward and not backwards.
Taxes - McCain's plan to give big corporations tax cuts do not help me grow my bank account. Big corporations do not need to get richer and richer by the day. Our economy is suffering, our people is suffering. We need breaks for the middle and working class.
War - We have gone deeper in debt defending other countries when there is so much need in our own country. We need to bring our troops home and invest in this country's infrastructure.
Control - McCain's campaign administration exhibited many signs of poor control and decision making. If he was not able to run a smooth campaign, what does that tell us about his ability to run the country.
Health care - $5,000 for individual families to pay for health care is simply not enough. Where am I going to get the other $7,000 balance to pay for my family's yearly premium?
Economy - As McCain simply stated "the foundation of our economy is strong" - not true. People are loosing jobs and their homes. Our economy has been in the process of collapsing for the past few years. It did not happen overnight.
Uninspiring - McCain is not a good speaker - therefore not inspiring to a country in need. He does not connect with the younger voters. We need our younger people to be inspired with hope and new ideas. McCain simply is not able to do this.
Wrong decision making - Picking Sarah Palin as his runner mate speaks very loudly of his ability to make good decisions for our country.
My last reason for not having voted for McCain is Palin. Not only did he choose someone who is so disconnected with the entire country, he was unable to manage her and present her in an appropriate way. There are so many good candidates he could have picked but did not.
For all these reasons and many more I chose not to vote for McCain. I believe our country deserves change and the opportunity to advance in order to compete with the rest of the world. In my opinion McCain is not able to offer us anything different than Bush has offered in the past eight years.
