There is hundreds of different ways you can design your own website and I will show you the top 3 which I think are the best. Also, in this article I will be teaching you about hosting and differences between different hosting packages.

Firstly, if you are good with HTML this is always the best way to design your website, to simply open up notepad and code your website. Alternatively, if you are using a PHP script it would be best to code this using notepad and edit the PHP script instead of HTML. I cannot teach you how to do this in this article as it would take pages and pages of information for you to take in and you still would not understand HTML or PHP very well as it can take sometimes years to master these coding languages.

Secondly, you can use a drag and drop HTML program to make HTML design easier for people who do not understand HTML well enough to code it from scratch. Software like this would be Microsoft Front page, Adobe Dream Weaver and loads more. You can do a simple Google search and find the software for this which suites your needs.

Thirdly, you can get premade PHP scripts off the Internet; for example you can get Social Networking scripts which you just upload to your site and then run the installer to install the website and log into your admin control panel and edit the CSS script which will make life a lot easier as making this script from scratch even as a professional can take up to 20 days full of non stop coding.

If you are new to coding your best of sticking with the second and third option as these are easier methods of making your own website.

Now, onto the hosting part of this article.

1) Free hosting: There are various different free hosting packages on line which either contain advertisements or don't contain advertisements, although these are free i would not recommend them as they cause a lot of trouble when you need certain things on your website. For example, they are very strict about different content on your website, if they say no premade website scripts (PHP) and you make your own php script which was not premade they will take for granted that the PHP script you are using was premade and then disable your hosting which can cause stress for your viewers when they are wanting to view your site. Also you have lost all of your current data on this site as they do not give you a backup.

2) Paid hosting: This is pretty much the same as free hosting but is more advanced and you can choose the amount on bandwidth you want (bandwidth is the amount of times your website is views in simple terms) and how much storage space you want. In addition to that they usually provide very good customer support. So if you have any problems they will answer your questions either by instant message or via email.

3) Dedicated servers: This type of hosting is for advanced users and can be very costly, the best dedicated servers with very good customer service is what you want when you are paying over 100 dollars a month for hosting usually cost around 160 dollars. You can get cheaper, but I would not recommend these as they usually do not provide good features for your site. For example Fantastico auto installer is a great feature to add forums and bulletin boards to your website when your website gains more traffic and some cheaper hosting do not have this.
