Product reviews: St. Ives Swiss Formula Apricot Scrub

I have been a fan of St. Ives products since I was a teenager. Since I did not have a lot of money I was attracted to St. Ives products for their price. I continued using the products because of their performance and quality.

One of my favorite St. Ives products is their St. Ives Swiss Formula Apricot Scrub. I have used different formulas of their scrub over the years and prefer their St Ives Apricot Invigorating Scrub For All Skin Types formula. I have combination skin that changes with the seasons. It is nice to have found a product that works well for me year round.

St. Ives has always been known for using natural ingredients that are gentle to your skin. Their Apricot Scrub is no exception to what so many have come to expect from St. Ives. The ingredients in their Apricot Scrub include: Water Juglans Regia (Walnut) Shell Powder, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Zea Mays (Corn) Kernel Meal, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cetyl Alcohol, Trithanolamine, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG 100 Stearate, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Fruit Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Extract, Primula Veris Extract, Sambucus Nigra Flower Extract, Acetylated Lanolin Alcohol, Carbomer, Ceteareth 20, Cetyl Acetate, Polysorbate 60, Sodium Chloride, Sorbitol, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Fragrance, Titanium Dioxide. As always, their products are not tested on animals.

The St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub is a coarser scrub than many on the market. I feel this allows the scrub to provide a deeper clean and a more complete exfoliation of the skin than other products. Since it provides a deeper clean it is able to keep your skin clear of acne flair-ups while making your skin soft.

This product has a mild apricot scent that doesn't linger. This makes it a product that is acceptable to both male and female users. The scrub is thick so you will not need to use a lot. To use, moisten your face and gently rub the scrub in a circular motion onto your face with your fingertips. The scrub rinses away easily with water. It is recommended to use this scrub once a day. I prefer to use the scrub in the shower so the flip-top tube is the perfect container for this product.

The scrub does not foam or produce lather, but it does give you an invigorating clean. The product makes your skin look and feel as if you have had a salon facial. It sloths away the dead skin giving your skin a soft glow. This invigorating scrub gives your skin a deep clean leaving your skin feeling soft and smooth soft.

I have found that even though this has been marketed as a facial scrub that it works well on other parts of the body as well. I have used it on my elbows, knees, and legs. It works especially well on dry, scaly legs during the winter. I use it after shaving my legs and it exfoliates the dry, dead skin off and leaves my legs soft and smooth.

St. Ives Apricot Scrub has remained inexpensive over the years and retails for less than $5.00 for a 6 ounce tube. This makes it one of the least expensive exfoliating scrubs on the market. I recommend this product for people of every skin type. The scrub does not dry out your skin or leave it feeling greasy. It truly works with every skin type and allows you to use one exfoliating product year round. It is a great value for a product that works so well.
