I strongly believe that yes, there is life after death! When one does energy work and healing such as I and many others on this earth, we realize how much our past lives affect our present ones!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
I believe that we are souls having a human experience and that we choose to come onto this earth to live and learn with the ultimate goal of evolving into the purest of light beings! We choose our parents (and not the other way around!) we teach them and we are taught by our children too! I believe that everybody that crosses our paths is a member of our soul family or family of souls if you want to call it that. These are soul-mates. Your friends, lovers, children, family even your next door neighbour could be you soul-mate. Then you have the souls that are more than soul-mates, but that's a different topic! ;-)

When you leave one life and your soul decides to reincarnate into a new being, I believe it is a choice made by the soul. The so called expression "Karma" comes into play here which many people believe strongly in (Buddhists, Hindu, and Sikhs) and is Sanskrit for act, action, performance. [The philosophical explanation of karma can differ slightly between traditions, but the general concept is basically the same. Through the law of karma, the effects of all deeds actively create past, present, and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one's own life, and the pain and joy it brings to him/her and others. The results or 'fruits' of actions are called karma-phala. In religions that incorporate reincarnation, karma extends through one's present life and all past and future lives as well] (Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia).
I have had the personal experience of working with one of my Master Reiki teachers on a client suffering from a debilitating disease. By "talking" to his soul through techniques we use in energy healing, we discovered that this person in his previous life had made many, many people suffer. When his soul chose to reincarnate once again, it made the decision to "pay" back the bad deeds and wrongs by having the human experience of a sick person with an incurable disease. Yes, we did much to alleviate his symptoms to such a point that he could actually walk without the help of his wheelchair by doing deep cellular cleansing and helping his Karma along!
All this to say that life after death DOES exist. Why else would you see children that are prodigies on this
