So just like the morning after a great night of sex you find yourself drained, blissful and cotton mouth. The morning after Election 2008, was no different. You told your friends to vote Obama. You told complete strangers that you met in your daily adventures to do the same. You even went on Myspace, Facebook and your personal blog and shouted Obama's name, as if he was the last lover in a forty night sexcapade. Then it happened. The climax you were waiting for. Obama won! So now it was your duty go remind everyone who voted for John McCain over the face of a new era just why they were not basking in the same lovers glow as you.
The list you can reference to your friends, family and aquaintences:
1. John McCain is old and do we really want to Sarah Palin as the woman taking the job. I'm all for women's rights, but I'm pretty sure Palin is packing if you know what I mean.
2. John McCain voted 90% of the time with George "I screwed up the country" Bush. Do we really need four or more years with Bush ideologies.
3. Fox News is the antichrist. They needed to be knocked off their pedestal. Their propaganda machine for McCain made me question his involvement in the propaganda machine.
4. Cindy McCain. She is not necessarily a reason not to vote for John McCain, but when you compare her to Michelle Obama, she falls short in all catagories. Michelle is an icon for adolescent girls to aspire to.
5. John McCain's health care policy is old school and not what this country needs. The old system does not work and his plan did not revitalize the system, but instead just give it a band aid.
6. John McCain's freeze on all social services, in order to free up money is an extreme answer to a problem that requires swift action, but not extreme measures.
7. John McCain's friends and cohorts, who he would have put into his presidential cabinet, were not that much different from Bush's. Thus proving he was not that much different in policy from Bush. He only mentioned a few people, but it was enough to turn my vote away.
8. John McCain lost his composure on several occasions during debates. In a time of crisis and attack, I do not see McCain as a man that could handle the stress and pressure of the situation with a calm, authoritive hand. He is too emotional.
9. John McCain's handling of the debates and Obama's decision to not do more than one town meeting, was immature and whiney. He complained more about that than anything. Then he whined when someone who spoke on Obama's behalf, in a racist manner, negatively towards McCain he demanded an apology from Obama. Even though he was not the one who made the comments.
10. John McCain is not the face of the future. Obama is. John McCain simply did not offer a plan, a position or the morals and values that represent the majority of America. Obama did.
In the end, it is all about the passion of the voter. The passion that drives your vote to the man in your bed, your presidential cabinet and the Oval Office. McCain represents the past and Obama the future. There simply is no other man or woman in this Election 2008 that better represented America as it is right now. McCain is a good man, but not the face of America.
