I might have been undecided up to the last minute as to whether I was going to give my vote to a third party or for Barak Obama; one thing I did know was that I WAS NOT GOING TO VOTE FOR MCCAIN!
1) At 72 years old, after going through 1200 pages of comprehensive medical records, he has had 5 different skin
cancers, as reported by MSNBC. While that is no evidence that he could pass of melanomas, however, it is risky.
2) There's no medical proof of this issue, but McCain seemed to repeat himself so much in the rallies debates and town halls that I was starting to wonder if the man has a memory problem. Why would he give the same or similar answers to every question? Oh, and if I hear "my friends," or unspecific "reform" or about "Joe the Plumber" one more time I'm going to explode!
3) His campaign staff is complete with a set of former Lobbyists which wouldn't be a problem, except that it contradicts his reputation as a reformer political spending!
4) While stopping Global Warming is an issue concerning all life on Earth and obviously a concern of all of the candidates, I am aware that John McCain has his heart in the right place. "The road to hell". . . (Drill, baby, drill!). . . "is paved with good intensions". . . (Becoming independent of foreign oil and having clean energy sources). McCain's views on renewable energy should not include a short term resolve of drilling! His targets and timetables on his site for his energy plan are too for down the road; we need to act sooner!
5) McCain's economic reform policies were not specific. He and his team would share his senate track record on the issues. His own site has his Senior Policy Advisor Doug Holtz-Eaken saying that he's going to face the economic challenges, but doesn't state how. Based on his lobbyist connections, I'd say his economic plan would help corporations go on more golf retreats, not to help the blue collars or small businesses.
6) The fact that he hadn't gotten to know Palin before he chose her as a running-mate disturbed me; especially that it's insulting if he thought that would gain him more women's votes. While the beginning momentum of her may have helped his stats, the plethora of background findings, and the scandal over the firing of her sister's ex-husband, then she was found guilty of the charges and said she was glad she wasn't charged! Her lack of foreign policy experience. Being a neighbor to Russia doesn't count! Her lies and unresearched insinuations during the rallies.
7) His temper
