Darkness
Closing my eyes
hoping the pain goes away.
Applying my temporary fix
like it's a drug.
Only It's me looking at the back
of my eye lids
trying to avoid the rift
the world has caused me.
You may see the darkness as
pain, but I see it
as an escape from the conscious
reality that is life.
Not that I don't enjoy life,
but sleep is just as peaceful
and when you close your eyes the
pain stops and it becomes darkness.
In a positive light.
